Frequently asked Questions
1. Are there prizes?
YES!!! We have some amazing prizes including first, second and third place prizes plus grab bags for all participants
2. Will you cancel the event if it's raining?
The event runs rain or shine so please dress accordingly.
3. Do we need to bring money?
You will not need money for any race related activities. We do have various raffles you can buy tickets for during the BBQ.
4. Do you provide lunch?
We will have some light refreshments at the beginning of the race and a BBQ after the race (starting about 1 pm as racers begin to finish). The BBQ consists of hot dogs, hamburgers, veggie burgers, chips, drinks, salads and deserts - it's quite a spread!! However, you will need to provide your own snacks or refreshments during the race. We suggest bringing lots of portable snacks and full water bottles to avoid any unnecessary pit stops. Most activities will have access to washroom facilities but we cannot make this guarantee for each stop so plan accordingly.
5. What equipment do we need?
We STRONGLY suggest access to a cell phone and/or GPS. We do provide maps if required but access to a phone is helpful if you become mis-placed (it's happened) :)
6. Where do we check in?
We will have a VISIBLE check in table on race day prior to the start of the race. If you have not registered on-line you will need to bring your registration fee, complete the registration form and sign the Race Waiver before you begin the race. We will be able to receive racers about 30 minutes before race time or aprox. 8:30am
7. What if we can't do a task?
We make every effort to ensure that the tasks are compatible with any age, or physical ability to ensure the fun participation of all team members. When this is in doubt, tasks are often presented as a "Roadblock". This means that only 1 team member needs to complete a task. Usually, such tasks are able to be completed by at least one member of a team. However, if teams choose not to participate in a task, or choose not to complete a task (team mates can always switch out when trying to complete tasks) then they receive a 30 minute penalty. If teams choose to receive a penalty, they will stay at the task site to complete the penalty before receiving their next clue.
